Unite is a PAN European web platform that connects suppliers with customers to facilitate seamless transactions and collaborations for sustainable business relationships and supply chain reform. 

Unite’s cash application challenges 

Unite’s situation was unusual among our customers: despite already working within a partially-automated cash application environment, their teams were overwhelmed by the manual effort involved in simple tasks like copying bank statement items into Excel to then send them by email for reporting purposes. 

Manual processing of remittance advices was a particularly egregious example, with the company using a third-party tool to index documents, requiring intensive manual assignments of all incoming payments to invoices and the correct company code.  

These manual methods were resulting in errors, limited reporting capacity, and unnecessary delays to working capital availability.

Unite chose to partner with Serrala to resolve their challenges because of our FS² Autobank solution’s seamless integration with their existing SAP environment. This not only ensured system compatibility and easy integration, but meant their small team would able to hit the ground running with the new system with minimal training and see improvements almost immediately. 

Achieved 96% average automation rates 

Unite were able to see improvements to their processes and results in short order, with Autobank’s robust reporting capabilities offering clear, actionable insight into international operations and providing opportunities for proactive improvements to both cash application and customer relationships via automation. 

One of the first changes the company made was the introduction of automatic matching with our SmartEye tool – eliminating almost all manual work from remittance advice processing, reducing errors significantly, and confining human involvement to exception handling. 

The company continues to streamline processes in multiple markets (including automating the import of bank statements with AutoBank’s ASM tool) in ways that provide permanent added value with minimal additional effort.
