Tennant Company: automating AP for 100% invoice capture via OCR

Tennant Company is recognized as a leader in the cleaning industry, with innovative and sustainable solutions for effective indoor and sustainable solutions for effective indoor and outdoor cleaning, with a global revenue of $1.14 billion.

Processing around 30,000 invoices each month through 3 shared service centers, the company wanted a solution that would allow it to enable consistent global reporting, productivity, and cashflow, enforce controls and compliance, and increase the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of invoice processing.

Tennant chose our FS2 AccountsPayable solution. After a review of their invoice processing, we delivered a solution that automated the capture of unstructured invoice information using Optical Character Recognition (OCR), intelligently validates invoices against vendor and PO information, automates workflows for tax approval and exception handling, and provides real-time analytics and reporting of processing metrics for productivity, cashflow, and status tracking.

 As a result, Tennant has been able to capture 100% of their incoming invoices using OCR, with 60% submitted electronically for direct OCR capture.
